Important Things to Know When Writing the Amigo STM:

We at Insurance Services of America are pleased to represent the Amigo Short Term Plan. As you already know, the Amigo Short Term Health plan is an excellent choice for your client's short term health care needs. The Amigo gives your clients freedom to choose any physician, and has a unique $50 Urgent Care co-pay which is not subject to meeting the deductible.

How to apply:
I recommend our agents apply for this plan online whenever possible. When you apply online, you can be assured that the rates you quote are the current and most accurate rates available, plus, the quoting tool will do all the math for you!
Another benefit to applying online is that this plan is instant issue! You can print out your client's policy and ID card on the spot~ no waiting for policy status.
As an Insurance Services of America broker, we will gladly send you your own personalized link that you may email to clients, or place on your website. Any business done from that link will be automatically coded to you, so you will never have to worry about not getting credit for the cases you write.
If you prefer to do things the old fashioned way, no problem! Call one of our friendly agents who will be happy to run an instant quote for you. You may mail or fax your application to our office, and based on the date of the incoming fax or the postmark on the envelope, we will be able to honor your client's requested effective date. Even if you mail in your app, you can still get a day after postmark effective date.
Payments:
Your client can pay their insurance premiums one of two ways. If your client wishes to pay monthly, they can provide a credit or debit card. If your client wishes to pay by check, they must pay a lump sum premium. When paying in a lump sum, your client will save typically 30% over the already low premium.
Citizenship:
Although the Amigo Short Term plan does not require a Social Security number or proof of citizenship, it is important to note question #5 on the application:
If you are not a US citizen, do you expect to legally reside in the US for the duration of the policy?
If you are in this country illegally, you may NOT apply for the Amigo Short Term plan. This plan is great for people making a short term visit to the United States, looking for an affordable, comprehensive short term health plan.
Of course, this plan is also an excellent alternative to costly COBRA plans, and is ideal for US citizens who need to bridge the gap between retirement and Medicare, or for recent college graduates who are no longer eligible for their parents plan, or folks who are just looking for a way to safeguard their family's health at a reasonable rate.
