In our trying economy, with gas prices on the rise and businesses going bankrupt, it's no wonder a startling number of people are forced to go without health insurance.
Most folks tell themselves that they don't need health insurance, because they think they can't afford it. The sad fact is, if you get sick or injured, you can't afford NOT to have it. The other day, I was scheduling an appointment with my doctor, and the first thing they asked was for my insurance info. I gave them the name of the insurance company, but told them I didn't have my policy number at the time.
They told me to call back when I had the number.
They wouldn't even schedule the appointment unless I had proof of insurance.
