GENERATE MORE SALES by Focusing on the Right Targets!!!

KEY MARKETS FOR SHORT-TERM MEDICAL - It's not just individuals... employer groups need short-term medical, too.

  • New hires in waiting periods - higher health insurance costs have caused many employers to increase their group coverage waiting periods.

  • Child only coverage - many parents cannot afford the extra cost of putting their children on the group plan.

  • Alternative to COBRA - STM plans typically costs much less than COBRA, and STM qualifies as credible coverage under HIPAA

  • Part-time workers - these employees usually are not eligible for coverage on the group plan.

Below are some market segments that can have a need for our Amigo or Secure STM plans.

Associations
Automobile dealerships
Attorneys
Bankrupt companies
Bartenders
Banks and credit unions
College Graduates
Day nursery care
Doctor and dentists office staff
Employee leasing companies / temporary agencies
Grocery stores
Hospital groups
Hotel / motel industry
Nearly retired
Nurses and nursing home staff
Real estate agencies
Restaurants
Truckers
Unions

Try these techniques -

  1. Email the online application links to your group clients so they enroll new hires, part-time staff and exiting employees

  2. Provide HR contacts with STM materials such as stuffers and new hire kits or exit kits

  3. Include a STM brochure with all of your group quotes

And lastly don't forget the STUDENT MARKET! STM plans are perfect for students that have to come off their parent's plans, as well as graduating students that need insurance before they land their first job. Target graduates in May and December and target new students in January and August.
